About the title.
During Hurricane Sandy I was stuck in my apt and I found a scared mouse in my kitchen. Before bed I set up a humane trap to catch it. In the morning I found it there trying to jump out. I felt bad letting the poor thing out into the hurricane so I went to the pet store, got a cage, food and kept the mouse for a little over a year. It started as a "look at pet" but eventually it got used to my late night mandolin practice sessions and enjoyed my company. It's a good story and I wrote this song once while it was running on the wheel.
